Meeting of Women from Migrant Communities in Umbria
On November 16, 2025, the first meeting of women from migrant communities in Umbria took place in Perugia, as part of the activities promoted by Rete Donne delle Diaspore.
The initiative represented an initial moment of direct exchange among women with diverse migration backgrounds, with the aim of fostering mutual understanding and initiating a structured process of participation.
During the meeting, participants shared their personal and professional journeys, highlighting the diversity of migration experiences — from well-established paths to situations still evolving, often marked by administrative, social, and employment-related challenges.
Recurring themes emerged, including access to opportunities, continuity in life projects, and the need for spaces of representation. In this context, the discussion made it possible to identify shared elements and potential areas for collaboration.
The voices of women living in Umbria — diverse, present, and essential — represent an active part of the territory and contribute to its social, cultural, and economic development. The meeting laid the foundations for building a network oriented towards dialogue, the recognition of skills, and the development of shared initiatives in collaboration with similar associations, institutional actors, and local stakeholders.
